The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." As Catholics, we fully participate in the celebration of the Eucharist when we receive Holy Communion. We are encouraged to receive Communion devoutly and frequently. In order to be properly disposed to receive Communion, participants should not be conscious of grave sin and normally should have fasted for one hour.
Children typically receive their First Communion in the second grade. Parish school children receive formation in school. Public school and homeschool children receive formation in religious education classes. All parents will need to complete the First Communion Information Form provided in the margin to the left for church records.
If your child needs to receive this sacrament, please contact Kimberly Zubillaga at [email protected].
Baptized adults who are not part of the Rite of Chistian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) process and are wanting to complete their First Communion should schedule a meeting with the parish pastor. Learn more about the RCIA process here.
